Cicada insects reemerge from their dormancy every 17 years with the trees natural sap cycle. 2021 is the year of that return! These fun cicada earrings consist of hollow back brass that I handpainted with a vintage looking verdigres patina for the wings, green metal patina for the thorax and head, and hot pink for the eyes creating a preppy cicada. �� These earrings are large, but not heavy due to the hollow back. Please see mannequin pictures for reference. The approximate length of the cicada is two inches in length and one inch in width at its widest section. The earrings are finished with gold toned French style ear wires with a hand painted tiffany green textured ball. The total length from top to bottom is approximately 2 and 1/2 inches.
