People in 19th century England were obsessed with incorporating insects in their art, fashion, and jewelry. Jewelry featuring insects such as dragonflies, bees, and beetles were very much in style. These brass hollow back beetle stampings are approximately 3/4 of an inch in length. Dangling from the golden beetle component is a tiny, 4 mm round black channel set vintage Swarovski crystals, which are over 30 years old. The earrings are finished with gold-toned (nickel-free) French style ear wires. The total length of these earrings is 1 and 1/4 inches.
