This handmade Frida Kahlo necklace was inspired by a combination of Frida’s beautiful self portraits and her Wounded Deer painting. This necklace highlights the turbulent and passionate relationship that she shared with her infamous artist husband, Diego Rivera. The bead framed portraits of younger and older versions of Diego were handmade with resin and coated with a lacquer. Her flower headdress is made of Lucite flowers and her eyebrows are beaded with tiny matte black seed beads. The back of this bead embroidered piece is a soft gray suede-like material.
