2011 Xiaguan FT “Mushroom Tuo” Raw Pu-erh Tea Tuo in Box

This is a Xiaguan “Fei Tai FT” production. FT is a business which custom blends and special orders large quantities tea to be pressed in the Xiaguan tea factory. FT teas are intended for export to Taiwan. representing the highest quality Xiaguan teas. This recipe was first produced in 2006. again in 2008. 2009 and this year (2011). The 2006 production now commands high prices and arguably one of the most famous Xiaguan FT productions to date. The 2006 production also has the letters “FT” pressing into the head of the tuo but was packaged in bamboo leaves in a long chain of 7 tuos. This year’s FT Mushroom tuo comes in a simple square box. As is typical for FT productions this tuo is composed of a blend spring harvest leaves between 1 and 3 years old. This blending lends it a textured and well-rounded flavor.
